Learn how to make oDC search for files "on the fly" as you browse various people share. Search or even sort files you want to quickly find using this simple yet efficient feature.
Another oDC feature
DC++ clients have lots of useful features, the only problem is how to find them and use effectively. The normal hub search is the most used feature, but sometimes it may not be exactly what you need.
ADL Search was created to allow you searches "on the fly" for some terms predefined on the active share browse. As you look at someone's files and directories shared, oDC can search for things you wish.
This is useful to search for something globally or to sort files of some sort. You can use this feature as a filter to sort files on predefined terms.
Keep and eye only on the files you want
For example, you can create search strings for "avi" and "mp3" to quickly view a person's movies and mp3 files.
In order to configure ADL Search you can use the Search menu or directly using the ADL Search button on the top. You can add/edit/remove/sort search strings quickly using the buttons on the ADL Search page.
For each search term you can specify the minimum and maximum file size, source type, the destination (the directory name under which it will appear), either to be active or not and AutoQueue.
The AutoQueue feature tells oDC to also download files as soon as he finds them. This can come in handy, but if you create a too permissive search string you might use a lot of bandwidth and disk space for nothing.
