An IP address is an unique id for your PC when you are on the internet, and in most cases you are stuck with each other. The only exception is if your ISP is assigning the IP to you through DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol), which means that you have a different one every time. Let's see two efficient methods of finding out your IP address.
The first method is simple:
- click on the Start button in windows and then on Run
- type in the edit box “cmd” without the quotes and press enter
- in the console window which pops-up type “ipconfig /all” again without the quotes and press enter
A list like the one below should be displayed.

You can see that your IP address is displayed along with other useful information. The only downside to this method is that if you aren’t connected directly to the internet but through a local area network (by a router, for example), the IP displayed will be your local IP, and not your Internet one.
The second method is even simpler then the first (yes, it is possible). All you have to do is open your internet browser and go to this page on our site: http://www.bubble.ro/?page=showmyip and you’ll see the IP as it’s detected by the website along with a bag full of other useful information.
